9-11 Christmas Ornament with Heart-Shaped Bald Eagle
I stock this one a couple months ahead:
Late summer, weather changes, people come
To remember those blue skies—and after, days
With eagles flying on TV to cheer us up.
It’s, like, the sweetest and most decorative thing
To die for your country—or anyway
In your country, a building or field somewhere,
With an eagle crying red and blue nearby,
His golden wings outshining all the ruins.
I see him curve his beak down through his shield
And peck his starry heart to give those heroes
A taste of something sweet on Christmas Eve.
